The Building Regulations 2000 address internal noise control and testing requirements for residential property. These need to comply with the Building Regulations 2003 Approved Document “E” which requires that at least 10% of all new residential properties are tested to demonstrate that the levels of sound insulation provided between dwellings is in compliance. Site testing is required unless one follows the Robust Detail procedures. This includes student residences.
Acoustic Consultants Limited is registered under the ANC Registration Scheme to carry out sound insulation tests as specified in the Building Regulations. We are the first practice in the South West to be accredited under this scheme and to date have carried out over 600 tests to the new regulations. |
